Fire alarm goes of at the middle of night, nobody from the hotel takes action. Unmanned reception at night and apparently no communication between hotel alarm and hotel staff. Guests had to go look for help on their own from the neighboring hotels. Makes you wonder if it's safe to stay here.
Hotel accommodation was clean and adequate. The staff were very friendly and accommodating, however we were extremely disappointed with the standard of the food especially for a four star hotel. Hygiene was somewhat lacking as some food did …
Stayed here for 6 nights as part of a tour. We had a lovely room, good size, clean and with a great lake-view and balcony. It was serviced daily by a delightful lady. Breakfast was fine - what you would expect with plenty of fruit which we …
This was part of a very expensive holiday abroad taking in Austria, Germany and Lake Garda here in north Italy. The hotel itself is fine but, because I am a single traveller, my room is at the back of the hotel with no good view of Lake Garda at all. What am I paying for?
The service is abominable having to wait 'hours' to order a beer and considering that we had pre-ordered our our meals, as a group, by the time that I got mine it was stone cold. Admittedly, I complained, but, by the time that it was replaced as a hot meal, the others at my table had eaten their's. Certainly not conducive to enjoying your meal. Furthermore, I love having freshly milled black pepper with my meals, especially on the pasta which was offered, but there was none to be found. How on earth do Italian chefs, let alone others of different nationalities, get away with not using fresh spices in their cooking? I do carry a.peppermill around with me in the UK but when I dashed up to my room I discovered that I hadn't packed it! By the time that I returned to the dining room my blood was boiling but, guess what, the waiter had gone to the hotel next door and he produced a peppermill! It was only the following day that I discovered that another lady guest had a similar problem but she was unlucky in procuring any! But there it was on the table the following day for my meal (and for the other lady; but the same mill!).
Breakfast this morning was fine. I am a tea lover in the mornings and one of the worst things ever that I have discovered in hotels the world over is the provision of what I would call the worst teabags in the world and that is of the weak, insipid, flavourless ones of Lipton's Yellow Teabags! And what greeted me? Yes, you guessed it? To add to the insult , not a single teapot in sight. I remonstrate again (and, believe me I don't really complain and I give ample praise where praise is due) and the waiter produced one. Why on earth are they not on the shelves provided?
These hotels have been here for decades. Why oh why is there such a poor standard of management that is leaching so much off of the visitors from all over the world?
I've still got another few days to stay here! Either, things will magically improve, or, they might find out who wrote this and I might disappear in the middle of the night!
This place was so disappointing and it’s no surprise it’s one of the worst rated hotels in Limone. Genuinely some of the worst service we’ve ever received anywhere in the world. This hotel bills itself as a 4-Star and we thought after …
We were a group of 8, including partially disabled elderly mum and 3 kids.
Spent two nights at Garda Suite hotel, part of this group hotels in this corner of Limone.
Good location and view, staff is nice, large rooms.
But:
1. Room reservation for one of the nights was cancelled the day before arrival after we booked months in advance - and we had to scramble like crazy and overpay / change logistics to find a room during high season. Apparently it happens frequently, beware!! No discount or anything to compensate for inconvenience - which is unfair because if I had cancelled I would have had to pay for the night in any case as per cancellation rules.
2. Request for "no stairs access room" for my elderly mum was ignored.
3. Probably due to COVID, but seems understaffed.
4. Car park a bit nightmarish for larger cars / minivans.
5. Room lighting is cold, toilet fixtures are cheap plastic and come off, no tea kettle in room or common spaces. Very weird for a high price hotel.
Overall, not a good value for money, would not recommend.
Very poor selection especially for the continental and English breakfast. I was really disappointed as you expect that in a hotel in a very tourist place would have a variety buffet and not just scrabbled eggs and bacon. Some of the tarts were definitely not fresh. Although the breakfast staff was quite pleasant.
As we were desperately searching for a lunch place (close to closing time), we stumbled onto this lovely place hidden behind what looked like the usual tourist hotel. Behind the outdoor pizza restaurant is a small area with a few table and …
